Documentary

2026: A short documentary is currently in production about the pioneering program that helped HIV-positive men have children safely.

Premise: In the 1980s and 90s, when doctors told thousands of HIV-positive men that fatherhood was impossible without risking their partners’ health — a determined group of patients, physicians, and scientists refused to accept that fate. Following the pioneering efforts of a small scientific team, they not only made parenthood safe for HIV-positive men, but also showcased how medical breakthroughs can happen outside the established system.

This is an independent production closely connected to the story, the documentary is now gathering funding and materials that help show the lives changed by this work.

We are currently seeking baby photos for an anonymous montage honoring the children and families made possible by the program.
